My Story
Tanya Madsen is an author and songwriter with a passion for emotional drama. When she’s not working her day job as a technical writer supervisor, she writes novels, plays computer games, cuddles with her fur babies, or relaxes at her property in the mountains. She lives in Northern Utah with her husband and four grown children.
Childhood
Tanya Madsen was born in the Chicagoland area and has lived throughout the American West. She grew up poor, and her family moved frequently. Her best friends were often found in books. At the age of nine, she knew she wanted to be a writer someday, but felt it was impossible for most of her life. She has extensive experience to draw upon in creating her heartbreaking stories.
Adulthood
Tanya met her husband at eighteen and was pregnant nine months later. She struggled financially as a mother of four children, working in call centers and factories for years. Eventually, she managed to attend college while working full-time. It took her six years to earn a degree in English and Technical Writing, secure a good job, and gain the skills and confidence to FINALLY follow her dream.
